Tiger Woods will not face charges following crash, LA police say

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villaneuva said Wednesday that PGA golfer Tiger Woods was not impaired and would not face charges following a serious crash that left him with multiple injuries.

The sheriff delivered an update through a Facebook live chat Wednesday, stating, “We don’t contemplate any charges whatsoever in this crash. This remains an accident. Accident is not a crime. They do happen, unfortunately.”

Villaneuva also said Woods was not drunk at the time of the crash.
The crash caused “significant” injuries to his right leg and he underwent what was described as a “long surgical procedure” at Harbor-UCLA Medical Centre.
